Immigration Law in AZ

I believe racial profiling hasn't been much of an issue for a while now. Things have been better and a little more settled this way. As said in Johnny Albarran's Blog, the way Arizona's fairly new Law is being treated, we may have to start worrying about the people already in the country rather than trying to prevent of more illegal immigration. By simply considering that someone may be illegal for the way they look can definitelybring many problems whether the person is or is not. It'd be much better if a persons legal status were checked if and when they were convicted or had a strong reason to think of them as dangerous.

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

Agreeing with the editorial from the Dallas News, I don't think Don't Ask, Don't Tell should have ever been brought up. I don't see why it was ever such an issue for gay or lesbians to support and protect our country. I do realize that many people back then weren't as out and open about their sexuality as gays or lesbians as they might be now. I don't think it should matter the sex preference of the people in the army, marines or any military academy. It's fellow citizens serving and protecting our country. We are more and more aware of newer things as time progresses, as a growing country we do not need to worry on the sex preference of others, as it does not hurt our country or any chances of them protecting it.

Commentary on Government

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/19/we-cant-afford-this-government/

I think our Government is over looking so many more issues in what we are spending our money towards. I feel that there are so many things that President Obama might be thinking he is doing right in helping a department but hurting others much much more with those decisions. I think that if we focused more on helping to get the economy back on the right track, later we could focus on other things rather than trying to fix little things now and breaking our economy even more later. There are a few things that now may seem the best way to deal with our economy and issues our country is having but if we go at these small issues now instead of the bigger issues the bigger issues will take over and there will be nothing left. I am not sure how on earth we could do this, these are simply my thoughts on what I have read, heard and seen. I think that our government is thinking over the big picture & we definitely need to get a better look at the bigger issues we have going on right now.

Cyberbullying Influencing Suicide

"It is really hard to hold someone responsible for another person’s suicide." As said by Laurie L. Levenson, a professor of law and the David W. Burcham Chair in Ethical Advocacy at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. is a professor of law at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. In her commentary over cyber bullying and suicide.  I believe that you can be held responsible for someones suicide because when someone is going through any sort of stress or hard time with anything...if you are the one to say or do something towards what they're already doubting themselves about. You can be the main cause for what sets them off. In the commentary that the professor Laurie L. Levenson she is commenting over the invasion of privacy charge from some college students. I feel that if Tyler Clementi's roommate had not gone as far as posting his private encounter online Tyler would still be around today.
I feel like Internet is a big big big step in technology and very very useful in everyday life. I think there should be some sort of law against using the Internet to hurt or in any way bully someone. If there was less bullying online there would be more lives saved. Many students experience bullying in and around school, but the more harmful could be cyber bullying, you never know who is saying what & what the facts really are. Many people read what they see and believe it, go along with it and carry it on. The more people get into these things the more the person being talked about tries to escape and suicide seems to be the easiest escape.
I do think the people who make that move to embarrass, harass, and or bully someone online or in person should be held responsible for that move the person chooses to make afterwards, as in most cases it's suicide. I think that this bullying is just any other form of pointing someone with a gun...why do something that you know will hurt someone? Why go so far as to invade their privacy, invade their personal life and go PUBLIC with it...I believe they should be  held 100 percent responsible.

Tea Party Rallies

"Government belongs to those who show up."
Most people by now should know about the Tea Part, what with some people call radical thinking and activism habits. If you haven't heard about them yet, then I suggest you move out from under your rock. The Tea Party movement has been gaining not only notoriety but popularity with both sides of the American political spectrum. Rightfully so, the U.S. has lately been suffering from a dwindling economy along with the recent health care reform spectacle, Immigration issues, etc. and people are getting sick of just sitting around and hoping for the best.

People gather at the Capitol for a "Remember in November" rally to express opposition to government spending, particularly bailouts and economic policies backed by President Obama and Democrats in Congress, in Washington, Sunday.People gathered at the capitol in Washington to oppose to government spending, policies by president Obama, and Democrats in Congress on sunday. In this article by Gregory Korte, you will read about what some of these activists have been doing in trying to further their Tea Party organization I guess you could say. "It's also time to talk tough to the Republican Party, which all too often thinks this movement is about what's good for their careers, rather than what's good for America," this from a Connecticut activist, opposing the health care bill. These activists aren't trying to split the Republican party but "take over." These rallies have been held in several different cities and states for example, Sacramento and St.Louis.

"Government belongs to those who show up," as written in the beginning of my post was said by yet another activist, Dick Armey. This Tea Party is bringing together many Republicans and are getting together the ideas of opposing completely all of what we see now with Obama as president. As I read more and more about this, it's something we all should take care to listen for and be informed about.
